My childhood at the base of the Rocky Mountains taught me how space and light move. A steady practice for four decades in New York City’s rich artistic culture has brought mastery to that vision. I create abstract contemporary paintings in water media on linen or paper inspired by the sight and feel of landscape. A life-long practice of meditation informs the work. In the studio I listen, allow and move as if in meditation. Through process and color I seek the infinite and unnameable in the tradition of Mark Rothko, Helen Frankenthaler, Caspar David Friedrich and Clyfford Still.
